Back Out on the Water
Before my first trip with Kathy, it had literally been decades since I had last been kayaking. I found Kathy to be super supportive and encouraging...helping me to feel right at home back out on the water. Kathy is incredibly knowledgeable about the regional water and weather; and does all she can to ensure that our outings are a safe and positive experience. Each time we've been out on the water together, we've been able to do a bit of exploring off the beaten waterway, which is always such fun. Full disclosure… I’m not a big fan of being on or in the water, but I like to try new things. Kathy’s calm guidance, her mastering of the vessels and knowledge of the beautiful terrain that is available near gorgeous Newport, OR provided a perfect setting for me to push my own personal boundaries and experience something awesome. Kayaking with Rainboats was a marvelous experience and I will definitely be booking another trip soon! ~ Sarah |

Kathy provided an amazing experience kayaking down the creek. Our two-hour trek was relaxed and she did an amazing job pointing out beautiful nature along the way. We stopped to see birds, flowers, and nice little enclaves along the way. She even took pictures for me. We ended at the end of the creek which empties right into the Pacific Ocean. What a view! Best of all, Kathy is the friendliest, kindest, and most passionate supporter of our community-- and every human-- you'll ever meet. I couldn't recommend taking a trip with her more!

Kathy created an absolutely amazing experience - she knew exactly where to go, how to pace the experience, brought goodies and a great playlist. With Kathy, it is always easy to connect with her, yourself, and the moments that you are in and she really knows how to create a magical moment in a kayak. And no one fell until the very end! It was me...don't brace your weight on a floating item and you'll do just fine! Lol! ~ Kaylea

Sooo Relaxing! 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
Rainboats owner and operator Kathy Redwine took me on a wonderful kayak paddle. It was exactly what I was looking for! A balance of quiet serenity – sounds of the kayaks skimming through the water, breeze blowing through the conifers, breaking waves in the distance – and engaging conversation about the local birds, plants, trees, and lots of other things! Kathy is accepting and inclusive, and I felt completely comfortable around her. She is the perfect guide for this: she knows how to quietly enjoy nature and have fun! I don’t kayak much: I got a little overconfident in my paddling on the way back to launch and tipped over. It was really cold, even in summer; but I had my life jacket, and Kathy calmly talked me through righting my kayak and getting to dry land quickly. I have been back to Rainboats a couple more times, and I recommend it to anyone I know looking for a relaxing time on the Central Oregon Coast! ~ Robb |

Kayaking with Kathy was one of the most relaxing and rewarding experiences I've ever had. The path we leisurely paddled was nice and slow majority of the time with minor power needed, I felt like I didn't need prior kayaking knowledge to just go out on the water and enjoy the scenic view. Aside from the activity itself, it was refreshing just to have a safe space to talk with someone who made me feel as if a lot of my worries never existed, I cannot wait for another opportunity to experience such a magical time again. ~ Adora
